Our radiology group began at Mercy Hospital of San Diego in the 1920s. As the community grew, the practice expanded to provide diagnostic and interventional radiology across San Diego County. Our relationship with Mercy continues today through our work at Scripps Mercy Hospital.
Today, SHIPMG Radiology is a physician-owned and physician-governed practice working with Scripps Health. The radiologists who care for patients also make decisions about the practice, from clinical services to how we support our colleagues.
Our physicians work across body, breast, cardiac, musculoskeletal, and brain and spine imaging, as well as nuclear medicine and interventional radiology. We interpret imaging studies and perform image-guided procedures in hospital and outpatient settings.
We work with referring physicians and care teams to understand the clinical questions behind each exam. We discuss findings, answer questions, and help determine the next steps in care. These conversations are part of our daily work.
